Today I am doing my first full length makeup review for a eyeliner I received free for testing purposes from Influenster.com. This is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproom Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in black. Eyeliner is one of my favorite things buy and try. I own so many different types and so many colors...so I was super excited to see that I was going to receive a new brand to try in my Frosty VoxBox from Influesnter this winter. This product was also received a "Star Beauty Award" in 2013.
This a black eyeliner and it is modeled from the Kohl Kajal liners worn in India, known for their bright and stunning pigment. This is a soft eyeliner pencil that can be sharpened and the package claims that it is waterproof, it's even in the name itself.
My First Wear
I applied the eyeliner in my lower lit, I prefer to wear my eyeliner in my water line. I personally have a hard time wearing it anywhere else and this is the way I was taught to wear eyeliner so many years ago when I first started wearing makeup. I applied this eyeliner in my water line as I normally do and it was a total and complete mess. It smudged everywhere and I had raccoon eyes. I removed the makeup and put it in my drawer, worried I had received a dud.
......So I thought for a little while and it came to me.
I always have a hard time putting eyeliner on the top part of my eyelid so maybe this softer pencil will make it easier to apply to the top of my lid.
I know that may have come more quickly to others, I am pretty basic with my makeup routine so it took a little while for me.
My Second Wear
I applied the eyeliner to the top part of my eye. I typically have a hard time getting a line there that falls close enough to my eyelashes without creating that weird gap. Not with this pencil. It went on perfect. I have never had such an easy time placing eyeliner on that part of my eye. Typically to get a good line on that part of my eye I find myself using liquid and lots of baby wipes to clean up my lines. This went on perfect and smooth the very first time. The eyeliner is the perfect consistency to get in those hard to reach places. I am really happy with the results and I will be buying this eyeliner to use in the future.
Final Thoughts
I really like this eyeliner and once I got the application down, it was a standout among other softer eyeliners I have tried. This product is waterproof and you will need makeup remover to remove it completely. It surprised me with how waterproof it is considering it glides on so soft. It sharperns okay but I recommend a good sharpener and a light touch as it is easy to break of the tip.
